| Microwaves‐Assisted Synthesis of Phenylcarbamimidic-Anhydride Derivatives Using a Four-Component, One-Pot Reaction |

| The anhydrides moiety is an important substructure in the precursor for the synthesis of amides, peptide, esters and coordinating ligands. Moreover, anhydrides systems have been of considerable interest due to their pronounced biological properties such as anticancer, antitumoural, antibactrial, and so in wide variety nature product [1, 2]. In our study on the design and synthesis of novel compounds with diverse functional groups under mild reaction conditions [3, 4], I report a novel and efficient microwave-assisted protocol for the synthesis of phenylcarbamidic-anhydride derivatives 5 via a four-component, one-pot reaction of various phenyl isocyanates 1, trichloroacetonitrile 2, various benzylamines 3 and sodium arylsulfinates 4 in tetrahydrofuran solvent for one hour (see Table 1). The synthesized compounds have been identified using IR, Mass and NMR spectroscopy methods. Some advantages of this method include: use of readily available and inexpensive raw materials, no catalyst addition, high efficiency, and solvent-assisted purification under microwave conditions within one hour. |
