| The design of recyclable heterogeneous catalysts is a key focus in green and sustainable chemistry, overcoming the drawbacks of conventional homogeneous systems, such as difficult recovery, corrosion, and hazardous waste. Herein, a palladium-functionalized mesoporous silica catalyst, FDU-12@L@Pd, was synthesized via a sequential immobilization strategy [1]. Its ordered mesoporous framework provided high surface area and uniform pores, enabling efficient palladium loading and structural stability under reaction conditions. The catalyst efficiently promoted the Suzuki cross-coupling reaction for the synthesis of biphenyl derivatives, a vital transformation in medicinal chemistry, materials science, and fine chemical production [2]. Excellent catalytic activity was achieved under mild and green conditions with high yields and selectivity. Additionally, easy magnetic separation allowed for catalyst reuse over at least five cycles without significant loss of activity (Scheme 1). This work presents a robust and sustainable platform combining mesoporous architecture, palladium functionality, and magnetic recoverability for environmentally benign organic synthesis. |
