| چکیده مقاله |
| Biphenyls, as aromatic structural units with high symmetry and remarkable chemical stability, play a prominent role in the design of bioactive molecules. These two-ring structures, often synthesized through carbon–carbon cross-coupling reactions such as Suzuki–Miyaura using palladium catalysts (Scheme 1), serve as molecular platforms for the development of targeted drugs. The presence of the biphenyl moiety in drug structures improves pharmacokinetic properties and biological response, and is correlated with a wide range of therapeutic activities including antihypertensive, antidiabetic, pathogen inhibition, antipsychotic, anxiolytic, and anticancer effects. From a pure chemistry perspective, biphenyls as aromatic derivatives with electronic and spatial tunability allow precise manipulation of physical and chemical properties. Despite significant success, challenges related to the cost and stability of metal catalysts highlight the need for novel and sustainable catalytic systems [1-2]. In this context, polymeric palladium catalysts, due to their multiple stabilized and controllable reactive centers, enhance yield, selectivity, and stability of carbon–carbon coupling reactions under green conditions. Moreover, their polymeric structure enables effective recycling and retention of catalytic activity over multiple cycles. |
