چکیده مقاله
Unsaturated polyester (UP) resins are widely used in coatings and engineering composites due to their low weight, cost-effectiveness, and favorable mechanical properties. However, the aromatic rings in UP are susceptible to color changes, reduced durability, and weakening of mechanical properties caused by UV exposure [1]. Graphene quantum dots (GQDs), owing to their UV-absorbing and blocking capabilities, are a promising additive for protecting UP-based coatings [2-4]. This study examines the impact of incorporating 0.25 wt% GQDs on the color stability, fluorescence emission and mechanical properties of the coating. The results indicate that GQD addition effectively prevents color changes (∆E) and weakening of mechanical properties, significantly enhancing the durability and color stability compared to the neat UP film.
