An unexpected preparation of 3-amino-2-((hexahydro-2,4,6-trioxopyrimidin-5-yl)(phenyl)methyl)-3-(piperidin-1-yl)acrylonitrile via tri-component reaction of benzylidinebarbituric acid, malononitrile and pipyridine

چکیده مقاله
Multi-component reactions (MCRs) are significant tools for the rapid and efficient synthesis of a wide variety of organic molecules. These reactions have been investigated extensively in organic and diversity-oriented synthesis; primarily due to their ability to generate complex molecular functionality from simple starting materials via one-pot reactions [1, 2]. Benzylidenebarbituric acids as potential organic oxidizers are applied for preparing pyrimidine derivatives, synthesizing merocyanine dyes and divers heterocycles [3-6].
In this work, tri-component reaction of benzylidinebarbituric acid, malononitrile and pipyridine was investigated for the formation of pyranopyrimidine heterocycle. But isolation and spectroscopic characterization of the separated solid product indicated that there was not pyranopyrimidine moiety in its structure and 3-amino-2-((hexahydro-2,4,6-trioxopyrimidin-5-yl)(phenyl)methyl)-3-(piperidin-1-yl)acrylonitrile product was obtained
