| The development of sustainable catalytic systems is a key goal in modern organic synthesis, particularly for multicomponent reactions that generate biologically important heterocycles such as pyran derivatives. In this study, α-cellulose was functionalized with SiO₂ and Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles and subsequently modified with carnosine to produce the heterogeneous catalyst α-Cell@Fe₃O₄/SiO₂–Car. Structural characterization using FT-IR, XRD, FE-SEM and EDS confirmed successful immobilization and morphological stability of the catalyst. Its catalytic efficiency was evaluated in the one-pot condensation of benzaldehydes, malononitrile and dimedone in ethanol, providing pyran derivatives in high yields within short reaction times. Electron-withdrawing substituents enhanced reactivity, while the catalyst exhibited excellent recyclability due to its magnetic recoverability and structural robustness. Overall, α-Cell@Fe₃O₄/SiO₂–Car represents a green, biodegradable and highly efficient catalytic platform for sustainable synthesis of pyran-based heterocycles. |
