Magnetic Fe3O4@-TA-PABA nanocomposite as an efficient adsorbent for the removal of Congo red dye from wastewater

Magnetically recyclable materials have developed significantly in recent years and can be very effective as adsorbents in methods of separating or removing contaminants, including dyes. A particularly captivating advantage of this adsorbent lies in its effortless magnetic recoverability: it can be swiftly and cleanly separated from the aqueous phase by the simple application of an external magnet, entirely eliminating the need for tedious filtration or high-speed centrifugation. magnetic nanoparticles as highly efficient agents for dye removal.[1-2]. Despite the undeniable advantage of magnetic adsorbents-namely, their rapid and convenient separation from aqueous media through the application of an external magnetic field-their pristine forms typically exhibit relatively limited adsorption capacities. . Consequently, surface functionalization or composite formation with suitable materials bearing abundant functional groups becomes essential to significantly enhance their adsorption efficiency and overcome this key drawback.
These studies show that functionalizing the surface of the magnetite adsorbent increases its efficiency and effectiveness as an excellent adsorbent for absorbing water pollutants including dyes. Therefore, in this study, an attempt has been made to synthesize a magnetic adsorbent modified by trichlorotriazine (Cyanuric chloride is used as a crosslinking agent in polymers due to the presence of unstable bulky chlorine atoms that provide selectivity with various nucleophiles. Also, the presence of triazine ring combinations in these polymer structures helps in the stability and enhancement of the properties of these compounds for various applications.[3-4]) and p-Aminobenzoic acid (PABA) in a simple and efficient manner and to investigate it as an adsorbent for removing Congo Red dye.
