چکیده مقاله
Abstract
Metal phthalocyanines (MPcs) are a remarkable class of compounds with significant potential in various fields due to their unique properties, including thermal stability, chemical inertness, vibrant colors, catalytic activity, and efficient electron transfer. The selective reduction of carbonyl functional groups is one of the most important and fundamental chemical transformations in organic chemistry. It is a crucial step in the synthesis of natural products, bulk chemicals, and fine chemicals. Here, we investigate the use of various metal phthalocyanines as catalysts with high chemical selectivity and selectivity in the reduction of benzaldehyde to benzyl alcohol in the presence of sodium borohydride as the reducing agent.
