چکیده مقاله
Objective: Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are known to be effective substances with antibacterial properties, but their burst release affects their long-term use [1-2].
Methods: In this study, a new nanocomposite, Mg-Fe layered double hydroxide/Zr-metal-organic framework (Mg-Fe LDH/UiO-66 MOF), was prepared and then was coated with chitosan and cross-linked by glutaraldehyde. Subsequently, silver ions were deposited and reduced using Origanum vulgare extract, resulting in a uniform distribution of Ag nanoparticles within the hybrid. The prepared nanocomposite was characterized by XRD, FTIR, FESEM-EDX, and TEM techniques. Its antibacterial properties were evaluated via the disk diffusion method.
Results and Conclusion: The Results showed good stability, sustained Ag⁺ release, and high antibacterial efficiency against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.
