| Spirooxindole-based structures constitute are favored scaffolding amongst several natural and synthesized bioactive heterocycles known for their unique biological and pharmacological properties [1]. This paper presents a proper and potent method for the direct preparation of a series of structurally intriguing and pharmacologically relevant spirooxindole-fused quinazoline derivatives (4) in the presence a catalytic amount of Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H@APTES nanocomposite in water at room temperature (Scheme 1). The Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H@APTES was made according to a convenient and simple four-steps operation process and then characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM). In conclusion, this procedure is characterized by the utilization of Fe3O4@SiO2-SO3H@APTES as an efficient heterogeneous reusable catalyst, water as an eco-friendly solvent, alongside its straightforward operation, brief reaction time, and high product yields. |
