چکیده مقاله
This study focuses on the preparation and evaluation of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposites as effective and eco-friendly adsorbents for removing dye pollutants from industrial wastewater. Utilizing the excellent film-forming ability, hydrophilicity, and abundance of functional groups in CMC, combined with the large surface area, strong mechanical properties, and rich oxygen-containing sites of GO, we engineered a nanocomposite aimed at efficient adsorption of cationic dyes, such as methylene blue. The integration of GO into the CMC network enhances the material's structural stability and provides ample active sites for dye molecule capture. The nanocomposites were characterized using FT-IR, XRD, SEM, EDX, DLS, and zeta potential analysis [1]. FT-IR spectra confirmed successful interactions between CMC and GO. XRD patterns showed the composite's structural features, while SEM images revealed a porous morphology with well-dispersed GO sheets in the CMC matrix, ideal for dye adsorption. EDX analysis verified the elemental composition. DLS and zeta potential measurements provided insight into the particle size distribution and surface charge, which are crucial for understanding the adsorption mechanism and efficiency. The adsorption performance was evaluated by testing the removal efficiency of methylene blue from aqueous solutions under various conditions. The results demonstrated high adsorption capacity and rapid dye removal, making these CMC/GO nanocomposites promising candidates for wastewater treatment applications. This research highlights the potential of using biopolymer-based nanocomposites for sustainable environmental remediation and offers a practical solution for treating dye-laden industrial effluents [2] (Fig.1)
