| Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials made by connecting metal centers with organic molecules. They have attracted widespread attention and experienced explosive development over the past two decades [1]. Due to their numerous applications as adsorbents, in gas separation, drug delivery, energy storage, sensors and particularly as catalyst, MOFs have garnered significant interest from research groups [2]. An important characteristic of MOFs is their high surface area, porosity, highly tunable and thermal and chemical stability [3]. Spiropyran derivatives, particularly 3,3'-disubstituted oxindoles and spirooxindoles, are prominent structural motifs found in a wide range of natural products and biologically active molecules. These frameworks, featuring a quaternary carbon center and diverse functional groups, serve as powerful synthetic intermediates for the efficient construction of complex molecules with potential pharmaceutical relevance [4]. This catalyst demonstrated remarkable efficiency in promoting the synthesis of biologically important spiropyran through a one-pot, three-component reaction under mild and green conditions |
