| چکیده مقاله |
| The development of selective colorimetric chemosensors for environmentally and biologically relevant anions remains an essential goal in environmental and food-analysis. In the present study, we employed the azo–azomethine ligand HL (1-{3-[(1-ethoxy-2-hydroxethyl-imino)methyl]-4-hydroxyphenylazo}-2-chloro4-nitrobenzene), originally synthesized and structurally characterized by Arabahmadi [1], as a chromogenic receptor. The ligand HL demonstrated a pronounced optical response toward both cyanide (CN⁻) and carbonate (CO₃²⁻) ion in CH3CN. UV–Vis spectrophotometric titrations revealed significant bathochromic shifts upon anion binding (Figure 1), enabling quantification of the interaction through the Benesi–Hildebrand method to determine the binding constant (Ka), while Job’s plot confirmed the stoichiometric ratio of the formed complexes. Interference studies showed strong selectivity of ligand HL toward CN⁻ and CO₃²⁻ even in the presence of competing anions, whereas reversibility experiments confirmed the stability and reusable nature of the sensing system, in agreement with the reversible anion-binding behavior previously documented for related azo–azomethine sensors [2,3]. To evaluate real-sample applicability, the chemosensor was successfully applied to detect cyanide in bitter almonds and carbonate in commercial biscuit samples, demonstrating reliable analytical performance in complex food matrices. |
