| Quinoxalines are important heterocycles with pharmaceutical and industrial applications. A green synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives was achieved using milled white fish bone as a natural, heterogeneous, and recyclable catalyst. The condensation of o-phenylenediamine with benzil in water under heat produced an excellent yield of 97% in 20 minutes. The fish bone catalyst showed superior activity and recyclability compared to reported catalysts such as ZnO nanoparticles, Fe₃O₄-based magnetic catalysts, and zinc triflate.
