| The use of various nanoparticles such as porous silica hollow spheres, carbon nanotubes, graphene nanosheets and metal-polymer composites in drilling fluid compositions can significantly improve the viscosity, yield point, temperature stability, filtration loss reduction and gel strength of drilling fluids. In this study, the effect of porous silica hollow spheres on the main properties of drilling fluids was investigated. In this study, porous silica nanoparticles were prepared using the sol-gel method. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by analytical methods such as XRD, FE-SEM and FTIR. These analyses confirmed the successful synthesis. The experimental results showed that the addition of silica particles to the drilling fluid leads to the desired fluid coating thickness and reduced fluid filtration as well as increasing the viscosity and yield point of the drilling fluid and maintaining the gelatinous properties of the drilling fluid at different temperatures, thereby improving the properties of the drilling fluids. |
