CrFe₂O₄-Based Magnetic Nanocatalyst for Sustainable Stille Cross-Coupling Synthesis of Biaryl Compounds

A novel heterogeneous magnetic nanocatalyst, CrFe₂O₄@SiO₂@L@Pd, was designed and synthesized using CrFe₂O₄ nanoparticles as the magnetic support. The nanocatalyst was thoroughly characterized to confirm its structural and functional properties using FT-IR, VSM, FE-SEM, EDS with elemental mapping, XRD, and TGA analyses. The structures of the biaryl products were confirmed by ¹H/¹³C NMR and GC-MS techniques. The catalyst exhibited uniform element distribution, high surface activity, strong magnetic properties, thermal stability, and well-defined morphology, which together contributed to its excellent catalytic performance. The nanocatalyst efficiently promoted the Stille cross-coupling reaction, enabling the formation of biaryl derivatives under mild, environmentally benign, and solvent-efficient conditions. The reactions proceeded with high selectivity and reproducibility, and the magnetic nature of the catalyst allowed for facile separation and recycling over multiple cycles without significant loss of activity. Overall, CrFe₂O₄@SiO₂@L@Pd represents a robust, efficient, and recyclable catalytic platform, combining the advantages of magnetic nanomaterials with palladium functionality for sustainable and green synthesis of biaryl compounds via the Stille reaction
