چکیده مقاله
derivatives constitute a very important and useful group in organic chemistry. This importance is due to their various medicinal properties such as antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, anticonvulsant, antimalarial, anti-tuberculosis, anticancer, anti-amoebic, antidiabetic, antioxidant, enzyme inhibition, and antimicrobial properties [1]. Many important drugs contain the quinoxaline scaffold in their structure [2]. Various works have been reported about synthesis of these compounds from 1,2-diketones [3] or 1,2-dioles [4]. However, many of these works have some disadvantages such as harsh reaction conditions, the use of unavailable or expensive reagent or catalyst and long reaction times. Thus, finding of more efficient routs concerning the synthesis of these valuable derivatives has become an attractive field for organic and medicinal chemists. Here in the present work, an efficient way is described for the synthesis of quinoxaline derivatives from benzylic alcohols and o-phenylenediamine using nano Fe3O4 as a heterogeneous nanomagnetic catalyst and tert-butyl hydroperoxide as a mild oxidant in the presence of potassium cyanide in an oxidative and tandem manner (Scheme 1).
