Supported Ruthenium Catalyst on Aminopropyl Bifunctional PMO Containing High Loading of Imidazolium Based Ionic Liquid for Selective meta-Bromination of Arenes

چکیده مقاله
Meta-selective arene C–H functionalization remains a significant challenge in (hetero) arene substitution reactions. In this study, a new generation of highly ordered periodic mesoporous organosilica (PMO) with loading of 35% of imidazolium bridges in the framework (R-PMO-IL), used as a highly robust, stable, and efficient catalyst system (Ru@PrNH2@R-PMO-IL) in highly selective meta-Bromination of 2-phenylpyridiene derivatives (Scheme 1). The synergistic effect of the aminopropyl group along with ionic liquid bridges and also mesoporous structure properties (e.g., high surface area) led to enhanced catalytic efficiency and selectivity in meta-C-H Bromination reactions compared to previously studied homogeneous and heterogeneous ruthenium catalysts, even when using lower loading levels of ruthenium
